ok, this is going to be difficult... i need a wired journo to churn out the hyperbola... our final night of the season was a delight.

lets start from the beginning... dark ambient operators explored gestural manipulated soundscapes processing, reprocessing, layering, listening, screaming, howling, beat thickening... it was future eater (aka. andrew sargeant) and lost_time_accident (aka. yours truly) stretching the interactive composition into the realms of tension inspired improvisation like the taste of bitter chocolate on a caffinated strung day (how'm i doin?).

this is the hard bit... dale nason and kim bounds kept the room both silent and heavy with low frequencies (some where around 50hz)... i think it was the first exp where everyone shut up and listened... not only was there the shock of listening, the vision/audio combo was so arresting and engaging i couldn't keep the smile off my face...

the set started out with clipped beats and images thrusting hurriedly across screen and pa. you have to imagine the images and sound precisely synced... you see, the image ... was ... the sound!

dale and kim navigated their sound and visual environments, their various enhancers increasing contrast, increasing velocity, increasing density, increasing length... it's impossible to describe. you had to be there to witness the process unfolding. i hope to see them back in season 3.

nat completed, or rather rounded off the evening with his elliptical and confident pieces, folding and unfolding out of each other in the emergent tradition of the austrian glitch meisters found on the mego label. in some way, nat brought relief to the challenging and rapid fire frequency shifts in dale's performance.

with exp season 2 complete, centriphugal djs began a long night of dub that mellowed out the evening as we unplugged, packed up, bumped out... join us for season 3 commencing in august.

thanks to everyone who supported us through seasons 1 and 2. you know who you are... i've learnt a lot from all the performers, and on many occassions have been humbled by what we've been witness to. let's face it, it's been great!
