centriphugal is full of suprises... well, the venue that we both share that is... last friday started off with what is becoming a frequent tussle with the PA. this time we couldn't get the PA running till after 10pm and then only after a fair bit of rewiring... so it goes...

despite the mishaps, stress and tensions, the evening went pretty smoothly until someone pulled our power out leaving the set i was doing with ollie 30 mins short. while we were running i think we managed to capture something of a symphonic approach to the improvised set of "interactive compositions" we've loosly termed, regenerative generative.

bags took us through a scholarly tour of the 70s, early 80s and soundscapes from most recent times. everything from the stooges to roxy music and rehberg. a thrill for some in the audience, an uncertain experience for others.

all in all, despite the problems, an exceptional night and perhaps our largest turn out since we started the exp series.

this week warren burt performs live voice and electronics; soahab will give us a full hour of intense hip hop scratch mixing and jim knox will stir up a mix i'm told with go further than the 50s b-grade sci fi sound tracks he's known to collage up.
